Halloween!

Ih, 'tis Halloween!
Roh and two friends have dressed up as characters from the show Xena: Warrior Princess. Just 'cause we like to dress up!

We went to the Ren Faire here in PA a few weeks ago and we had a TON of fun. We made it a college trip, that's why I'm mentioning it here, I'll do a more in-depth post 'bout it on The Musings of a Roh later.

Had a presentation to do today with two other girls, it went really well, and I'm getting ready to turn in the rough draft of a paper on Anna Sewell's Black Beauty.

Well, time for lunch, sorry for the short, delayed post, college ish busy! :D

Sorry for the delayed post... :D

Heh, I've been intending to post for a while now, but I've been really busy.... so I finally got around to it now... :D

The reasons behind not posting, in no particular order (('cept maybe chronological...))
the last three weekends ((discounting the one just over)) Roh went home for horse shows. I'll talk more 'bout those in a post on The Musings of a Roh at a later date.
Then, last week was Sarah Wilson Week! *cue confetti*

Basically, 'tis a bunch of stuff that goes on. We get clues from our Big Sisters ((Juniors who will show us the ropes)) and our Sophomore buddies. We get dinked ((long story)) we get kidnapped, multiple times, we dressed like ninjas (pirates if you're an odd), have Color Wars, have Song Wars, Banner Stealing, and all sorts of fun stuff! The one night we were kidnapped by our Big Sisters and taken to Sarah Wilson's grave, where we sang the Alma Mater.
Roh Loves her Big Sister! And she Loves being an EVEN!!!!! EVENS ARE AWSOMEFUL!!!!!!!

Roh also joined the Drill team and the Hunt Seat team. She's a riding member of both! Drill so far ish very fun! I rode a horse named Leo for the first practice and we got along really well, I hope to keep riding him.

Saturday was mostly spent at the barn doing work-study, which, while not necessarily all fun and games it was rewarding.
Sunday was spent volunteering at the Combined event at the Equestrian Center.

Been busy, exhausted, but happy!

Getting Settled

Well, Orientation week ish pretty much over. Registration ish on Monday!!

Roh had her riding exam today!! It felt SO good to be back on a horse, even though it hadn't been a week since Roh last rode...
Did some walk/trot/canter work in both directions, then did a bit of jumping. 'tis looking like Roh's going to be in the Advanced Classes. She was basically told she'd be bored in the Intermediate. :D

For FYS ((First Year Seminar)) everyone had to pick which of five topics they wanted to work on for their workshop class. Roh and the two girls she's been hanging out with most since getting here, all picked the same one without consulting. Even better, they all got their first choice which was The American Cowgirl.

Well, things are really starting to roll now!

Moved-In

Well, today was move-in day!! *confetti*
Roh's moved into college! She's writing this blog post from the desk in her dorm!
And, she has a whole room to herself for now. Wow.
Her room ish nice and airy, on a good side of the building, the harsh, afternoon sunlight doesn't come in through the windows. Right across from the showers as well.

This starts Orientation Week. So Roh should be quite busy. But she wanted to shoot all y'all an update before getting too busy.

Picnic

My mom and I went to a picnic on Sunday for those Wilson Women who live 'round here.
We had a TON of fun, met two or three other incoming freshmen. We shared some common interests. Roh's getting terribly excited!

Less than two weeks to go! I need to start packing... My clothes that ish... and the books that I want to bring with me...

This and That

'kay, so... I'm going to a Picnic on the 3rd to meet some other Wilson Women in my area. It should be fun! and I'm looking forward to it. A picnic, games, what could be more fun?

In other news my parents got me some cool and useful stuff so far.
Just the other day, my mom comes in and goes "I know you're not the best with time management, so I got you this cool dry-erase board with a calender on it! And colorful markers!" So I got that to keep my on schedule. Then my uncle just got me a printer/copier/scanner/fax all in one. HP too, a good machine, yet cheap. A whole TON of paper... five reams... that's like 2500 sheets or something like that...
You're typical stuff, some towels, sheets... but I haven't seen those yet, bed risers so I can put storage under my bed, a matress pad. Some flash drives
Oh and a nifty, tea kettle with automatic shut off that doesn't need a burner.
As for food chicken tuna ((chicken breast in a can, prepared the way tuna fish ish)) a large box of Nature's Valley Oats and Honey Granola bars, and two large jars of Nutella.

Next on the shopping list ((Which I'm buying myself)) ish a Lamicell brand, 6 7/8 helmet, and a Intel Flex Rider protective vest. Both for riding of course.

I'm getting really excited! Less than a month! And when we stop at my grandfather's the night before, he's giving me a mini-fridge that he's got!
Only thing I'm dreading ish leaving Carlo. My mom's starting to have her doubts too. Just the other day she said to me. "I'm worried that your going to have a meltdown. Because you don't have Carlo."

Another Step

Put in my request for a roommate today! Huzzah!!

Got my appointment scheduled. In just a few weeks I will be working with my advisor ((over the phone of course)) to plan my schedule for my first semester.

I'm officially graduated from highschool! HUZZAH!!! I have a shiny new diploma to prove it!!!!
Mayhaps there will be pictures of me in my graduation gown later. But that ish going to wait 'til I get my new laptop, a graduation present from my uncle!!!

So, I'll be going into Wilson with a shiny new, Dell Vostro 1700! A nice wide screen, a full 10-key number pad to go along with the normal key pad. A built in web-cam with mic. And a bunch of other new features!

Even though I'm not bringing Carlo, I got the go ahead to bring my saddle. I love my Legacy, and it fits EVERY horse I've had it on. From a small pony, through small horses, Arabs, and Drafts, to my Thoroughbred, and don't forget the giant Warmbloods. So, I shouldn't have a problem using it on horses at Wilson.

More updates to come, 'gain, as we get closer and closer to move in day!

Info!

Well, I got a large packet the other day from Wilson!
All the paperwork and such that I need to fill out and fun stuff!

I now have my e-mail for college, and a bunch of other useful internet tools! Such as access to the moodle site and other stuff!

Now... to learn how to use it....

I've also got my room-mate picked out. I met her when I was there for Premiere Weekend, and we really hit it off. So we plan to room together freshman year. I'm really excited!
The only thing I'm dreading ish leaving Carlo at home... :(

First Post

Well... I didn't post 'bout the college finding/selection process... but, now that Roh ish decided, this ish where she will be talking 'bout it.
Basically, long story short, Roh's going to Wilson College in the Fall, and has plans to Major in Equine/Equestrian Business Management, and English.

I'll update ya as we get closer to move in day ((August 18th))
